The Wedding of Erin & George at Sydney Opera House

Updated: Dec 19, 2023

I first met Erin & George after they booked me for an engagement session before their wedding. For many couples, an engagement photoshoot is their first experience in front of a professional camera. It's an excellent opportunity to get comfortable with being photographed. This practice can make you more at ease on your wedding day, resulting in more natural and authentic photos on your big day! We met at the Imperial Clifton, and the couple had a cocktail to shake off the nerves! After a gorgeous engagement photoshoot, the couple ended their session by jumping into the ocean pool to cool off – after all, it was 35 degrees! It was such a fun afternoon and Erin & George really enjoyed the experience and loved their final gallery of images they received.

They had booked different wedding photographers prior to finding my work so I wasn’t able to capture their official day. Unfortunately, the weather on their wedding day did not play ball and they didn’t have enough time for bridal portraits, which was heart-breaking for both the bride and groom.

Much to my surprise, Erin reached out to see if I was available for a bridal shoot outside the iconic Sydney Opera House. I was both honoured and nervous – I wanted to ensure that they got the photographs they deserved to, and that these moments were captured beautifully in the city they love.

Erin had her hair and make-up done, wore her stunning wedding dress again, and George looked sharp in his suit.

With the sun setting over the city scape, it was the most perfect wintery afternoon for Erin & George’s photoshoot. The urban landscape provided an incredible backdrop, and the gorgeous newlyweds received the photographs they were looking for!

If I was Shakespeare himself I’d probably still struggle to find the right words to properly communicate how wonderfully delightful working with Lea is. Not only is she insanely talented, but she is also just such a JOY to be around.

On a professional level, her turnaround time is unreal and she goes above and beyond to help capture the moments you’re hoping for while staying true to her style, which means her photos never feel forced or in authentic. It’s such a privilege to have images which we’ll cherish for a lifetime and we feel incredibly fortunate to know that Lea will be our go-to/first port of call whenever we need to book a photographer.

On a personal level, as I’ve already mentioned, Lea is bar none one of the most genuinely kind, helpful, and refreshingly positive humans we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Neither my partner nor I have ever felt particularly comfortable in front of the camera, but within the first 10 mins of shooting we felt so much more at ease and spent the majority of the rest of the session laughing. Both times we’ve worked with Lea have become some of our favourite memories and we’re so grateful for her to have created that space for us.

Absolutely 11/10 experience and we can’t wait to work with her again.
